The twinning agreement between the cities of Funchal and Santos was signed in 27th of October of 1988.
As a result of this agreement, the name of this sister city was attributed to three roads in Funchal City: “Vereda da Cidade de Santos”, “Rua Cidade de Santos” and “Impasse 3 da Rua Cidade de Santos”.
